Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks naratif dengan menggunakan iklan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA1 (23 siswa) SMAS Plus Nurul Ulum. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Kolaboratif. Artinya, peneliti berkolaborasi dengan guru bahasa Inggris SMAS Plus Nurul Ulum sebagai pengamat dan kolaborator. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengikuti model Kemmis dan Taggart dan dilakukan dalam dua siklus dengan mengikuti prosedur penelitian. Untuk mengumpulkan data, peneliti menggunakan beberapa instrumen seperti daftar periksa observasi untuk guru dan siswa, pre-test, post-test dan wawancara untuk guru. Siswa menulis teks naratif melalui iklan yang mereka tonton. Skor minimal (Kriteria Keberhasilan) adalah 70 (tujuh puluh). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada siklus I skor pretes 45,33%, skor postes 53,16% dan siklus II skor postes 72,66%. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa iklan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks naratif. Suasana kelas dengan menggunakan iklan menjadi lebih aktif dan menyenangkan, pembelajaran menulis dengan menggunakan iklan membuat siswa senang dan tidak bosan serta siswa menjadi lebih mudah dalam menemukan ide.
