Issue Description

The first issue of Volume 2 of the International Journal of Management Science and Information Technology (January-June 2022) presents six empirical research articles that predominantly employ intervening variable methodologies to examine complex organizational dynamics across public and private sector institutions. The publication begins with an investigation into the effect of e-performance-based assessment systems and competency on work achievement of structural employees, with job satisfaction serving as an intervening variable within the Bondowoso Regency Government. This research contributes to the understanding of digital transformation in public sector performance management systems.

The second article analyzes the influence of competence, education, and training on employee performance through work commitment as an intervening variable at the East Java Provincial Forestry Service, providing insights into human resource development effectiveness in governmental institutions. Similarly, the third study examines teacher competency and work environment effects on teacher performance with motivation as an intervening variable in private vocational schools in Bondowoso District, offering valuable perspectives on educational management and pedagogical effectiveness.

The fourth article investigates the impact of leadership style and compensation on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable at Fatimah Islamic Hospital Banyuwangi, contributing to the literature on healthcare management and organizational behavior. The fifth study explores the influence of work environment and competency on performance through organizational commitment as an intervening variable within the Poverty Reduction Coordination Team at Bapedda Bondowoso Regency, addressing critical aspects of public administration and social development initiatives.

The final article analyzes the effect of Work From Home arrangements and information technology utilization on employee performance through job satisfaction as an intervening variable at regional forestry service branches, providing timely insights into remote work effectiveness during the post-pandemic transition period. Collectively, this issue demonstrates a cohesive research focus on organizational performance determinants across diverse institutional contexts, with particular emphasis on intervening variables that mediate relationships between organizational factors and performance outcomes. The studies employ sophisticated methodological approaches to examine contemporary challenges in public administration, educational management, healthcare administration, and remote work implementation, offering both theoretical contributions and practical implications for organizational effectiveness in evolving institutional environments.
