Abstract

Sharia gold pawning is a financing service with gold as collateral, offering a quick option for obtaining financing. This study aims to analyze the application of rahn, qardh, and ijarah contracts in the sharia gold pawn product at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah, Jeuram Branch. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, which aims to systematically analyze and describe the practices of sharia gold pawning. Data collection was conducted through observation and interviews with gold pawn appraisers at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah, Jeuram Branch. The results of the study at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah, Jeuram Branch, show that the implementation of the rahn contract occurs when the gold is handed over and stored in the treasury after undergoing several stages. These stages include the gold appraisal process, which involves physical analysis, testing with a testing needle, and the calculation of the gold's specific gravity. The application of the qardh contract takes place when the customer receives a sum of money after completing the aforementioned stages. Meanwhile, the ijarah contract is implemented when the financing or qardh reaches maturity, where the customer pays a fee for the storage or maintenance of the pledged gold during the period. The gold used as collateral remains stored in the treasury. This study concludes that the implementation of rahn, qardh, and ijarah contracts in the gold pawn product at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah, Jeuram Branch, complies with sharia principles and the provisions stipulated in the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council
