Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in banking health conditions in the Indonesian and Thai banking sectors through the RGEC approach (Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Profitability, and Capitalization). The objects of study include Bank Central Asia (BCA) as a representative of Indonesia and Bangkok Bank as a representative of Thailand. This study uses a descriptive approach based on figures and qualitative data, utilizing financial reports as secondary data sources for 2024. The findings show that both banking institutions are classified as healthy according to the main RGEC indicators. BCA's Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio is 1.78% and Bangkok Bank's is 0.84%, both of which are classified as very healthy. Meanwhile, the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) stands at 77.25% for BCA and 76.61% for Bangkok Bank, both of which are in the healthy category. Corporate Governance (GCG), Return on Assets (ROA), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) also show positive results for both banking institutions. Although the share prices of both banks declined during the first half of 2025, their fundamental performance continued to grow positively in line with an increase in net profit. This confirms that share price movements do not always reflect the short-term fundamentals of banks. Overall, this study concludes that both BCA and Bangkok Bank demonstrate a good degree of financial health and are able to maintain stability and performance amid the dynamics of the ASEAN financial market.
