Abstract
Young generations often face difficulties in managing finances wisely due to their limited experience in personal budgeting, a high dependency on parental financial support, and a consumerist lifestyle driven by social pressure from their peer environment and exposure to social media. This often leads them to take advantage of the convenience of online loans, which poses a risk of creating debt burdens in the future. This phenomenon emphasizes the importance of financial literacy from an early age as preparation for developing healthy and responsible economic behavior. This study aims to explore the understanding, strategies, and experiences of accounting students in applying financial literacy and utilizing digital applications to support financial tracking and budgeting habits. The research method used is descriptive qualitative based on phenomenology, involving ten informants who are accounting students from several universities in Pontianak. The results of this study show that the majority of students have a sufficient understanding of financial literacy, but its implementation in financial habits still varies. The use of digital applications is considered capable of increasing efficiency and awareness of personal financial conditions, although convenience is the main factor in the success of its adoption. This study emphasizes that financial literacy, combined with the utilization of digital technology, can play an important role in shaping healthy financial habits among students.
