Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of advancements in information technology and investment knowledge on investment interest, with financial behaviour as a mediating variable. The population in this study consists of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Palangka Raya, class of 2021, with a sample size of 262 students from the Management, Development Economics, and Accounting departments. Data collection in this study used a questionnaire distributed online. The data analysis method was conducted using descriptive analysis and Partial Least Square (PLS) with the SmartPLS4 analysis tool. The obtained R-square values are as follows: Information Technology Advancement (X1), Investment Knowledge (X2), and Investment Interest (Y) towards Financial Behaviour (Z) have an R-Square value of 0.553. Information Technology Advancement (X1), Investment Knowledge (X2), and Financial Behaviour (Z) towards Investment Interest (Y) have an R-Square value of 0.621. The research results show: (1) the advancement of information technology has a significant positive effect on investment interest; (2) investment knowledge has a significant positive effect on investment interest; (3) financial behaviour has a significant positive effect on investment interest; (4) the advancement of information technology has a significant positive effect on financial behaviour; (5) investment knowledge has a significant positive effect on financial behaviour; (6) and financial behaviour can positively and significantly mediate the relationship between the advancement of information technology and investment interest; and (7) financial behaviour can positively and significantly mediate the relationship between investment knowledge and investment interest.
